Graham Fox (Clydeway Golf) and Braid Hills' Paul McKechnie won the final Tartan Tour event of the year - the Glenmuir Winter Series four-ball better-ball at the Mar Hall course, Bishopton near Glasgow today.
Fox and McKechnie combined well to post a seven-under-par better- ball score of seven-under-par 63 over the 6,507yd course. They divided the first prize of £750.
Joint runners-up in a field of 26 pairs were Jason McCreadie (Buchanan Castle) and Robert Arnott (Bishopbriggs) who tied on 65 with Steven Rettie (Callaway Golf and David Andrews (Bonnyton).
Both pairs earned £450.
The Robinson brothers, Paul from Largs and Colin from Prestonfield, finished just outwith the prizelist after a 68 which included a better-ball 8 at the first hole! They covered the remaining 17 holes in a better-ball six-under-par.
This was the last year of Glenmuir's sponsorship of the Winter Series so the PGA in Scotland are on the look-out for a new sponsor for the popular event.
