• Masters champion cards 67 on final day to win by four shots
• Only sixth player to win all three major Australian titles
Adam Scott, the Masters champion and world No2, clinched a four-shot victory at the Australian PGA Championship following a final-day 67.
The home favourite carded three birdies and an eagle while dropping just the one shot on the par-four ninth as he went round in four under par on a rain-affected last day.
That left the Adelaide-born 33-year-old on 14 under for the tournament at Royal Pines on the Gold Coast, and allowed him to claim victory ahead of American Rickie Fowler.
Fowler, who led by two shots after the first round following his course-record 63, scored 68 on Sunday to finish on a 10-under total of 274 at the joint PGA Tour of Australasia/OneAsia Tour tournament.
The Victorian trainee Jack Wilson (68) was third on eight under while his compatriot Cameron Percy (68) was a shot further back in fourth. Play had been suspended for 90 minutes at one stage because of bad weather.
Scott became the sixth man to win the career Triple Crown of Australian tournaments - Australian PGA Championship, Australian Masters and Australian Open. "This is the one I desperately wanted. It's the icing on an incredible year.
"To come home and play in front of my Queensland family meant a lot. I've had a great week. This one is for my family, especially my dad [Phil] who is a PGA member."
