Rookie pro Fraser McKenna (pictured below) moved up to a joint fifth place with one round to go in the Qatar Classic after a six-under-par 66, the best score he has achieved since the Balmore man left the amateur ranks in mid-August.
McKenna's best of the day score put him on the two-under-142 mark , three shots behind the joint leaders, Welshman Stephen Dodd (71-68) and England's Lee Corfield (70-69).
Tom Buchanan is a second Scot in the top ten of this MENA Tour event at Doha Golf Club. He shot a second-round 71 for 143.
Greg Nicolson (Mortonhall) and Pollok's Conor O'Neill survived the cut with nothing to spare on the 151 mark. Nicolson had a 78 and O'Neil a 74 in the second round.
