GARETH WRIGHT JT 2ND IN SPAIN AFTER LEADER CRICHTON SLUMPS

         GARETH WRIGHT ... SIX BIRDIES IN HIS FINAL ROUND

Aberdour amateur Scott Crichton dropped out of the lead with a second-round 75 - 10 shots more than his first-round effort - at the Corvera Open at Corvera Golf and Country Club, Murcia in south-east Spain.
The Scotland international finished joint seventh in the field of 30 behind three-stroke winner Phillip Mejow (Germany) who shot 66-68 for 10-under-par 134.
West Linton's Welsh tour pro Gareth Wright tied for second place with David Callaway (England) with scores of 69-68 for seven-under 137. Wright had six birdies and two bogeys in his final round.
Former Scottish boys' match-play champion Paul Ferrier from Baberton finished joint fourth on 138 with a pair of 69s.
Neil Fenwick (Dunbar) shot 70-74 for level par 144 and a joint 17th place finish.
