Tiger Woods maintains Bridgestone Invitational lead after carding 68

• Tiger Woods holds on to seven-shot lead in Akron
• Luke Donald and Chris Wood in group tied for fourth

Tiger Woods remains in command of the WGC Bridgestone Invitational at Akron but his third round was much less spectacular than the career-equalling best 61 he carded on Friday.

The world No1 had been on the brink of a startling round of 59 but still took a seven-shot lead into Saturday. Two birdies at the start continued his superb form but bogeys on the 9th, 14th and 16th meant he carded a 68. A 39ft chip in for birdie on the 13th was the highlight.

Woods maintained his seven-shot lead over the field, with Henrik Stenson in second place after carding a third-round 67. Jason Dufner is a shot further back with the trio of Luke Donald, Bill Haas and Chris Wood all tied for fourth on six under par.

Miguel Angel Jiménez was the star of the round. The 49-year-old Spaniard sunk six birdies on his way to a five-under-par 65, moving him up to a share of seventh place with Keegan Bradley.

Phil Mickelson (67) and Rory McIlroy (69) ended the round on even for the tournament and well out of contention.
