FROM GOLF BUSINESS NEWS.COM
Although there has so far been no official confirmation, GBN.com understands that Richard Caring, who purchased The Wentworth Club in 2004 for a figure reportedly around £130 million, has sold the renowned Surrey club at a substantial profit.
The purchaser is the Reignwood Group of Beijing, headed by Dr Chan Chai, one of China’s wealthiest businessmen.
The company owns the Reignwood Centre in downtown Beijing and the Reignwood Pine Valley golf course situated in Changping, a 40min drive from the capital, and property both in China and overseas.
Featuring 54 magnificent holes designed by Jack Nicklaus, Reignwood Pine Valley includes the Reignwood Polo Club, luxury golf villas, a five-star hotel, health management and fitness centre, and a private business jet service for members.
