Newmachar amateur John Duff scored his second win of the North-east Golfers' Alliance season with a par round of 63 over the short winter course at Inverallochy today.
Duff, pictured, who also won the Montrose fixture on November 20, finished a shot ahead of two players from the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre stable, Northern Open champion David Law and Philip McLean (Peterhead) and Law's caddie, Elie-based Keith Shanks.
Duff collected a £100 amateur voucher for his good effort on a day when a Buchan breeze meant that
nobody in the field of 74 was able to beat the par of 73.
Alliance joint secretary Dave Wilson (Duff House Royal), making a comeback to the playing side of the game, had his lowest net score for many a long day - a 60 off seven of a handicap - to win Class 1 by a stroke.
David Lane (Deeside) won Class 2 with a net 57 off 11.
