EDINBURGH AND EAST OF SCOTLAND ALLIANCE
REPORT FROM ALAN GREENSHIELDS

A great turnout today of 101 players enjoying a Royal Musselburgh course in great condition verified by the many comments after play. The forecast suggested rain may hit play in the afternoon but all survived the threat before arrival thankfully after end of play.

On the scratch score front first man out Gordam Law (Uphall) set the pace with a 3 under par 67 and was followed at the midway point by another 67 via Lloyd Saltman (Archerfield). However, later in the day Trainee Louis Gaughan (Bathgate) carded a superb 65 with 6 birdies in the front nine to not only secure top scratch score but also make sure the Bernard Gallacher Trophy was secured by the Bathgate player.
