EDINBURGH AND EAST OF SCOTLAND ALLIANCE REPORT
FROM ALAN GREENSHIELDS

A great turn-out of 96 members headed to the Borders to tackle a testing and well prepared course at The Roxburghe.
Rain was again a threat on the day but we escaped with some light showers in morning with blue sky appearing in afternoon albeit with some strong winds as forecasted. However, all things considered a pleasant day's golf for time of year.
First player out Ross Neill of Drumpellier carded a solid, two under par 70 to set a challenging target but two games later Andy Marshall of Houston Golf Range edged ahead for a short while with a 69.
Then Gullane assistant pro Keir McNicoll a few games later posted the winning score of the day with a five under par 67, recording four birdies on the front nine holes.
Keir's 67 not only took the top scratch prize but also secured the T C Jordan Trophy.
Top handicap prize was shared on net 71 by Stuart Davidson (Dundas Parks) (78 less seven) and James Silvestro (Musselburgh) (80 less nine) with Longniddry scratch player Duncan Martin (Longniddry) securing third prize on net 72.
Top Trainee Prize this week was shared on 76 by Gordon Hillson (Dunbar) and Cameron Marr (Musselburgh).
Top Senior Prize headed to Ron Grant (Baberton) on net 74 (80 less six).
After four events Ross Neill (Drumpellier) heads the Scratch Order of Merit and Iain Wilson (Longniddry) heads the Handicap Order of Merit.
