WIN NUMBER 5 ON NORTH ALLIANCE
CIRCUIT FOR BRYAN FOTHERINGHAM
Bryan Fotheringham (Inverness) returned to his former home course at Forres on Saturday to notch his fifth win on the North Scottish Golfers' Alliance 2013-2014 circuit.
He has previously won at Garmouth, Inverness, Kinloss and Moray Old.
Fotheringham headed a Forres field of 87 players with a two-under-par 65 off winter tees. He birdied the second, third and fourth in an outward, three-under-par 31.
He bogeyed the 11th and 12th but cancelled out these slips with ane gle 2 at the 17th, only to bogey the 17th in aninward one-over 34.
Playing partner Robert McKerron, a member of the host club, finished runner-up on 66 after temporarily taking the lead just after the turn.
Out in 33 to Fotheringham's 31, McKerron got a birdie 2 at the 10th to improve to two under par and when Fotheringham bogeyed the 11th and 12th, which McKerron parred, the home club man
took the lead.
The last three holes tipped the scales in Fotheringham's favour with Bryan finished 2-4-3 to McKerron's 4-3-4, the last hole bogey costing Robert a share of the spoils
