A triple bogey 8 at the long 11th in a third-round 73 may have cost Northern Open runner-up David Law his victory chance in this week's German PGA Tour event, the Preis des Hardenberg Golf Resort.
Law, who had an opening round of one-under 71 followed that with a 73 for 144 and is four shots behind the new leader, Belgium's Mivis Christopher, who has had a pair of 70s for 140.
Law birdied the long fourth and short sixth but dropped his first shot at the sixth.
The Aberdonian, who plays out of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre, was up with the front-runners on the leaderboard until he ran up an 8 at the long 11th.
His second 2 of the round, at the short 15th, repaired some of the damage but he is in joint fifth place with a round to go.
From a starting field of close on 100, only those with 36-hole aggregates of 152 and better qualified for the final round.
