SCOTS HOLD IRISH TO DRAW IN SENIOR FOURSOMES

After drawing with title-holders England 3-3 in the singles-only opening day of the Senior Men's Home Internationals at Royal Co Down Golf Club, Newcastle, Northern Ireland, Scotland performed creditably again to share the Day 2 foursomes with European champions Ireland.
England led Wales 2-1 after the foursomes.
Wales were thrashed 6-0 by Ireland on Day 1.

DAY 2 FOURSOMES

       SCOTLAND 1 1/2, IRELAND 1 1/2
Lindsay Blair and Ian Brotherston bt John Mitchell and Arthur Pierse 1 hole.
John Fraser and Alan O'Neill halved with Tom Cleary and Michael Quirke
Lindsay Gordon and Tony Patterson lost to Maurice Kelly and Adrian Morrow 3 and 2.

   ENGLAND lead WALES 2-1
 FOURSOMES
Richard Latham and Andrew Stracey bt Nigel Evans and Glyn Rees 3 ande 2.
John Ambridge and Richard Partridge lost to Paul Bloomfield and Andrew Williams 2 and 1.
Tyrone Carter and Chris Reynolds bt Keith Simpson and Jeff Thomas 3 and 2.
