Craig Lawrie, elder son of Paul, has scored his first scratch win on the North-east Golfers Alliance circuit. He shot a two-under-par 69 to head a field of 70 players at Kemnay.
Lawrie, a member at Deeside Golf Club, won by one stroke from fellow amateur John Duff (Newmachar) with professionals David Brown (Kemnay), David Law (Paul Lawrie Golf Centre) and Colin Nelson (Mackenzie Shop) relegated to the lower placings.
Young Lawrie, three over par after five holes, got into his stride to birdie the eighth, niinth, 10th, 11th and 13th, coming home in three-under-par 32.
Duff had birdie 2s at the shot sixth and 10th.
Law had three 6s in an outward 39.
