GORDON ALLAN WINS NORTH
SCOTTISH ALLIANCE AT SPEY BAY
Nairn Dunbar four-handicapper Gordon Allan (Nairn Dunbar) won today's North Scottish Golfers' Alliance fixture - postponed from three weeks ago - with a level par round of 70 at Spey Bay.
Whilst some of the bigger names were faltering in the gusty conditions, allied to tricky greens, Allan made his first birdie at the eighth, holing from the lower tier of the green and followed with another at the ninth to turn in two under 33.
A further gain at the 14th was sandwiched between bogeys at the two short holes with a closing bogey 5 completing a round of 70
He won by two shots from Elgin amateur Neil McWilliam with Nairn Dunbar pro Gordon Hay securing third place with a 73.
