DUNTON THE DUFF HOUSE ROYAL WINNER
AFTER LAW GOES OUT OF BOUNDS AT LAST

Scotland amateur international Adam Dunton scored his second win on the North-east Golfers Alliance circuit this season with a two-under-par 66 at Duff House Royal Golf Club today (Wed).
But the Ellon man would be the first to admit that victory should have gone to professional David Law.
The Paul Lawrie Golf Centre player, needing a par 4 at the 18th to pip Dunton went out of bounds down the right and ran up a triple bogey 7 for a 68 (32-36).
Law had the day's biggest bag of birdies, five in all, at the first, second, 11th, 12th and 14th. But, apart from his disastrous finish, he also bogeyed the 10th and 13th.
Dunton earned the £100 top voucher with birdies at the first, 12th, 17th and 18th, offset by bogeys at the seventh and 11th in halves of 34-32.
Portlethen's Sam Kiloh, the newest recruit to the Paul Lawrie GC stable, earned his first money as a professional - £60 - for third place with a 69 (34-35).
Kippie Lodge pro Keil Beveridge had the best outward half of the day. He reduced the front nine to only 31 shots. But it was a game of two halves for Keil ... he required 40 blows for the second day to finish joint fifth on 71.
Paul Lawrie's older brother Steve, who plays off seven at Portlethen, hit his best form for a while with a net 68 to win Class 1 handicap
Most of the field of 79 enjoyed a lovely day for the resumption of the NE Alliance season after bad weather forced the cancellation of three fixtures in a row ... but the last few groups got caught in heavy rain and wind which blew up from nowhere.
